Youth is wasted on the young

Some argue that young people lack the wisdom to fully appreciate their energy, opportunities, and freedom, only understanding youth's value in retrospect. Others contend that youth's spontaneity, idealism, and fresh perspective are perfectly suited to that life stage, and the regret is actually wisdom looking backward inappropriately.
